Pilgrim Hall Hosts Sunrise Rotary
What an amazing meeting this morning as we were hosted by Pilgrim Hall for a field trip and on site meeting.  We were so moved being in this incredible building steeped in our town's history and surrounded by beautiful works of art!  It is the oldest continuously operating public museum in the country and America’s museum of Pilgrim possessions. Did you know that one of the oldest documents in Massachusetts is housed here (over 400 years old)?!  If you are a Plymouth resident you can visit the museum for free! Unbelievable place to learn more about the Mayflower Pilgrims and the Wampanoag people. 2nd Annual Wiffle Ball Tournament - June 22, 2024!
 
Registration is now LIVE for our 2nd Annual Wiffle Ball Tournament which will take place on Saturday, June 22nd at Plymouth North high School! Line Dancing for A Cause!
Grab your boots and come join the Plymouth Sunrise Rotary on February 10th for a fun night of LINE DANCING at the Knights of Columbus in Kingston! Proceeds to benefit the Plymouth County Suicide Prevention Coalition and The Trevor Project.  Hope to see you there!
 
More New Members Inducted!
Tony Provenzano inducted two more members into the Sunrise Rotary Club of Plymouth today!  A special welcome to Stephen Coe (owner of the Lobsta Love food truck and the Early Bird Cafe in Kingston) and Katy Buckley (Owner of Elevated Adventures Yoga).  This fun, energetic and inspiring group is growing by leaps and bounds!  Meetings are Thursday mornings at 7:30 am if you would like to check one out!
 
COMMUNITY COAT DRIVE
The colder months are coming up so we are hoping for donations of NEW coats, sweatshirts, socks and hats to keep people in need from our community warm this winter. We will be collecting items between now and December 15th and all donations can be dropped off at the locations listed on the flyer.  Together we can make a difference for those in need in our community!
 
Check Presented to South Shore Community Action Council!
We had the honor of presenting the South Shore Community Action Council a check for $1,500! These funds were the result of a successful Stuff-A-Cruiser event and will be used to help restock the shelves at SSCAC.  (Special thanks to the Plymouth Police Department for all of their help with this event!)

Annual Stuff A Cruiser Event
It's that time of year again, when the Plymouth Sunrise Rotary and the Plymouth Police Department host our annual STUFF-A-CRUISER event to restock the shelves at South Shore Community Action Council! This year the event will take place on Saturday, 9/23 from 10-2 at Walmart in Plymouth. Food items needed to help our community are listed on the flyer below.  Hope to see you there! (Can't make it to the food drive but still would like to help our community? Please use the QR code at the bottom of the flyer and we will make sure your donation gets to them! Please note the food drive in your Venmo note so it is donated appropriately!)

Bike Drive a Success!
Bikes Not Bombs was a success! A heartfelt thanks to everyone that donated bikes (especially the truck loads from the Plymouth Police Department and the Salvation Army)! Bikes are shipped to those in need in third world countries and some are used for the Youth Pathways program in Boston.

Bikes Not Bombs Bike Drive
This weekends fundraiser with the Bikes Not Bombs organization was a success, over 60 bicycles were donated!!! 🚴‍♂️. Thank you to everyone who donated and Chick-fil-A for the use of your parking lot.

Hey Plymouth, WAY TO SHOW UP! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼Today we collected 2,499 pounds of food in 4 hours for the South Shore Community Action Council at Walmart- Plymouth.  What does 2,499lbs of food looks like??? Well, we filled the Plymouth Police SWAT truck up almost three times!! We can’t thank our community enough.

Nourish Your Neighbor
The COVID-19 pandemic has hit our community hard, forcing small businesses to close and
ordering families to stay home. As a result, food insecurity has become a reality in many
households and our favorite local restaurants are feeling the negative effects of decreased
sales.

The Sunrise Rotary Club of Plymouth wants to provide support to Plymouth's locally-owned
restaurants while feeding Plymouth families in need during the COVID-19 crisis. Each week
Sunrise Rotary is partnering up with a local restaurant and a local sponsor to provide dinner for
families experiencing financial hardships due to the pandemic. Together, we can support,
nourish, and heal our community. One warm meal at a time.

Plymouth Sunrise Rotary Grant Project
Plymouth Sunrise Rotary Grant Project
The Plymouth Sunrise Rotary embarked upon a project with Terra Cura and Healthly Plymouth to help fund and plant vegetable gardens at various public schools in Plymouth.  The gardens will be maintained by the students and used in the culinary school and to give all students a farm to table experience growing theeir own vegetables.  A District Grant with matching funds from Plymouth Sunrise Rotary helped to make expansion of the garden project a reality in 2018.
The Plymouth Recovery Center Is Open!
The Plymouth Recovery Center opened on July 5th.  The center is designed after the peer-to-peer recovery centers that Gandara Centers runs in Brockton and Hyannis. Kelly and four other Gandara employees from the Hyannis-based Pier Recovery Center of Cape Cod have been volunteering their time locally since the Plymouth center opened July 5.
The center is located at the South Shore Community Action Council headquarters on Obery Street, where it occupies a suite of offices.
The Plymouth Recovery Center started moving into the space July 1, fulfilling a promise made by local businessman and Plymouth Sunrise Rotary Member Robert Hollis, who rallied the community to raise money for the program in memory of his son, Rob, who died of an overdose last fall after two years of sobriety.
 
Thanks to the members and friends of the Plymouth Sunrise Rotary who helped give the interior of the center a freshly painted look organized by member and interior designer, Cheryl Terrill of Interior Bliss Designs.
Plymouth Sunrise Has 5 New Paul Harris Fellows
